First Step: Enrolling in a Specialized Esthetics Program
Do you have a passion for skincare and have considered pursuing a career in esthetics? When you decide on a career in beauty, you get to look forward to a future in a field that’s rewarding, fulfilling and growing.
Becoming an esthetician is a career choice filled with many benefits, and we’re excited you want to join the field! We’re going to tell you how to become an esthetician in Pennsylvania!
Enroll In An Esthetics Program
The first step to becoming an esthetician is to enroll in a program. The state of Pennsylvania requires you to graduate from a 300-hour esthetician program. Our esthetics program at Queen Beauty Institute is 300 clock hours and is designed to last 13 weeks, which is a little over 3 months!
Being a part of our esthetics education means that you can learn a wide range of skincare skills and best practices. Our curriculum is split up into five main sections:
- Professional practices: learn essential information such as salon safety, sanitation, disinfection, and professional image
- Sciences: learn sciences that relate to skincare, including chemistry and product ingredients
- Facial treatment: learn advanced facials, lash tinting, brow lamination, and more
- Temporary hair removal: learn waxing and tweezing
- Makeup: allows students to express their creativity
We also believe in giving our students the experience of working in the beauty industry so they feel prepared for a career after graduation. We offer our students hands-on experience and put a lot of emphasis on practical knowledge.
Choosing A School
