At Queen Beauty Institute, we help students pursue their love for beauty. We offer several different beauty programs so students can learn what they’re most passionate about, whether that’s hair, skin, or nails. If you’re interested in applying for one of our programs, here are the next steps you can take.

How to Enroll

Here’s an overview of the enrollment process:

  1. Explore our programs to determine what you may be most interested in learning. We have a lot to choose from, including cosmetology, esthetics, and more! Please review our School Catalog thoroughly before you decide to enroll.
  2. Schedule a tour of our campus. This step isn’t required, but it’s highly recommended, so you can see if our school can help you meet your goals.
  3. Fill out our Pre-enrollment form. Once you do this, you’ll be emailed the school catalog, an overview of the program you’re interested in, and a link to the online application.
  4. Fill out the online application. Once you do this, you’ll be contacted by the Admissions Officer to set up a Zoom interview.
  5. Meet over Zoom for an interview with the admissions officer.
  6. Once accepted, we’ll figure out a time for you to come in and fill out an enrollment contract. Submit the enrollment contract along with the non-refundable $250 registration fee to secure your seat in class.

Admission Requirements

Before you submit an application, there are some important requirements to keep in mind. The admission requirements vary depending on the program you choose, so look over the information below that pertains to the program you’re interested in. Please be advised: Starting in 2024, all students will be required to wear black or grey scrubs to school each day. Students are required to provide their own scrubs.

Requirements for our cosmetology, esthetic, nail technology, and hair braiding programs:

  • You must be at least 16 years old
  • Provide a copy of your state/federal issued photo ID
  • Provide a copy of your high school diploma, GED, or home school diploma approved by the US Department of Education (please review catalog for enrollment documents accepted)
  • Complete the student application and zoom interview
  • Complete the enrollment contract

Requirements for our teacher training program:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Provide a copy of your state/federal issued photo ID
  • Provide a copy of your high school diploma, GED, or home school diploma approved by the US Department of Education (please review catalog for enrollment documents accepted)
  • Provide a copy of your professional license
  • Complete the student application
  • Complete the enrollment contract and  zoom interview

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

As of August 21st in alignment with the CDC and City and State regulations, students are not required to be vaccinated to attend Queen Beauty Institute.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from Queen Beauty Institute, students must:

  • Complete all the required hours of training
  • Complete all practical and project requirements
  • Complete all the curriculum requirements

After graduating and receiving a diploma from our school, graduates must sit for the State Board of Cosmetology Examination to earn their license. Then, they can legally provide beauty services to clients.

Transfer Student Policy

We accept transfer students at Queen Beauty Institute. Students may receive credit for all or some of the clock hours they previously earned at another beauty school. There is important information to note about transfer hours, based on Pennsylvania’s requirements.

The Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology states that the hours are considered expired if it has been more than four years since the first date that the student started accumulating clock hours. If the student’s hours are expired, they will be required to start their training over again.

To transfer previously earned clock hours to our school, students must provide a copy of their transcript and progress report. It’s the student’s responsibility to request their transfer of hours and obtain the required documentation.

We evaluate and accept transfer hours on an individual basis. Transfer students may be required to take tests (both theoretical and practical) to more accurately assess their knowledge and skill level.

Where is your school located?

Our campus is located in Philadelphia, PA. Our address is 6133 Colgate St, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

What are your office hours?

We’re open from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM on Sunday – Thursday and closed on Friday and Saturday.

What happens if I withdraw from a class?

Please visit our School Catalog for the drop/withdraw policies and the school’s Refund Policy. There is a drop fee of $150.

Are there any Financing options?

Yes, Queen Beauty Institute offers financing through TFC. This option includes a weekly payment of $300 while students complete their program. Once the program is complete, the remaining tuition balance will be financed through TFC and broken down into monthly payments. Students can pay off their tuition balance in a maximum of 12 months. If weekly payments are in good standing, students will qualify for early testing while in school. Final paperwork will be submitted for licensure once tuition balance is fully paid. Students will be dropped from the class if they are TWO payments behind.
